The steep road to Bologna is without tolls, except two. We were told this would
be a long drive, and it was only one third bad, the hills slow us down. Arriving
very late there is a broken public adress system. The compound we are in is
a miniature city with grocers, free clothing store, discussion centers, movie
basement, buses, dogs,
information bookstore and the stage all coated with a thin layer of dirt. Setting
up the tapestries on a long wire we then put up the equipment. We are served
heaping amounts of Middle Eastern food. Ællun and Bruno play before us.
Bruno talks of the intellignce of the Italian police punctuated with giga echo.
Allun does a similar set to
the previous. Broken Head from Los Angeles also plays furious battle sounds
in a moderne churning way.
Queequeg the animal tranquilizer befriends Wood Patty. His head is a maze tatoo with 2 teeth. He capers and wishes to be drugged out of his existance which is troubled with face ink and party music. Szandor, a very rabid fan, asks us for a good 10 minutes about our set. He is really disturbed none of 'The Sabre Waving Saracen Wall' and 'Toodoos' is not on our agenda. He offers the nequient half of the band suceptable to vices some whisky which is going to cause the pencil tip to snap off if we pursue a wholesome perfect set. Nonetheless our pomarity for Bologna was pristine and without interfational horror.
With the end of the set came the drooping eyes. However Space Family-Colony
had to play afterwards for a few hours to no audience. We really needed some
sleep. Really we did! Our providers informed us the stage would be available,
the gym (yes they had a gym too) was full with our matresses being slept on
there. Caroliner made a group desicion to sleep in the vehicle and on top of
our matress usurpers. We were shown around to different flat areas for sleeping
instead, each frightening, then the matresses came to us in ragged dirty glory.
Mama Buttme boards a train and we end up crying another hour. It is now 5 AM
and sleep comes to us like a crippled horse fly fairy. I have had a wonderful
time talking with you, and hope for more pleasantries.
yours,
Cotty
