The Day Leaps Up and Down
There is a day with a blessed time.
The air is gold streaked with wine.
There is a day with ants from the sea.
Midnight murderers with shriven seeds.
Pants fall off to earthenly right.
Therein the day of unpleasant sight.
The pilgrim day that moon lifts by,
Melancholy holds that confusing lie.
There's a scandalous day inherent to me.
It's up and down leaping bruising my cheek.
Day leaps up and down you see,
knife lined body, cold, hot feet.
Unsympathetic yawn of the open skies,
there's a day without a thought for eyes.
Any supply of pleasure rebels to being
corroding the vein to unraveled string.
No land is stable this pay in field,
destroying unhappy crop by unbowed yield.
Impatient perversion unsensitive around one's needs
Battered head ragged from an hour's leaps.
Therefore the day comes 'round swinging free
Sweeping thoughts like a firestormed leaf
Day leaps up and down you see,
time lined body, cold, hot feet.
