Sign the Coffin and Be Done With Me
Having the hand of a thief and murderer,
convicted of bruted horrid crimes
Was a boon for outrunning any man,
but having an arm would hand more time.
This handshake appealed to Frank Fuller
whose father killed a man and stole a life.
That arm commandered after his death by right
because the family pursued by eastern demons and the like.
One particular creature would punch holes in flesh and cloth,
this was the awl horse who wore drapes of cotton stockings...
and his insides were smoke swirling minds
and bone rib knives punching smoke hearts inside...
And Frank Fuller would, with his father, run home
pursued usually by this mare.
It stole their hats the first time but the punching holes,
holes was the central scare.
There were other pursuers: (the) straw woman
like a nau deggy whisker arms and mouth.
Their family were all loutish and cursed
having stole cookery from everyone in the south.
Frank Fuller had the arm bequeathed to him
his father planned a serious trap.
He said "If you get my arm you'll have to run a course I've writ
and a two fold ickary map."
One demon fell in a hole, he had one leg.
Frank Fuller filled it with water tainted finger sap.
Another had a burlap sack filled with family heads
tied to the chest that would rattle and sap slop.
Trying to yell for his head (in pursuit)
hastily broke its neck
But the awl horse could keep up with Frank Fuller,
and he asked how it was doing this.
The guts came out and shown a murderous huge hoof,
that must've been from its father, also a crook.
Frank Fuller went out in a day to the workshop in trade
ordered a bed coffin for he.
"I'm going to sleep out where my ditch tent is,
if you happen by sign 'here lies' and be done with me."
