Electric Bath

Description
The first studio album released by the Don Ellis Orchestra. Also their first album on the Columbia label. This album shows the first crystalizations of world music and jazz-rock directions that the Orchestra would use in the future. "In a Turkish Bath" features Ray Neapolitan on sitar, and also a very clear funk beat (albeit in 7/4 time).
The Orchestra's live albums are much better than any studio material they ever released, but for what it's worth, this is the best studio album. Recommended because of historical importance.
Electric Bath has been reissued on CD by GRP Crescendo (1994) and by Sony/Legacy (1998). Only the latter has significant differences from the LP.
