New Rhythms
(click to see full size; thanks to Lionel for this awesome cover shot!)
Description
This was the LP that accompanied Ellis' 1972 book the new rhythm book. The LP's main function was to provide backing tracks for musicians who wanted to better their improvisational skills in odd meters like 5/4 and 9/8. Really quite a good idea.
Note: many of the tunes resemble changes from tunes performed by the Orchestra at one time or another. The titles they resemble have been placed in brackets.
