Shock Treatment

Description

A further embrace of rock rhythms and jazz. More blatant influence by Indian music and electronics as well. Shorter songs than on most of Ellis' past albums.

The record was plagued by misfortune. Read this letter that Don wrote to Downbeat to get the details. Essentially it was tampered with without Don's knowledge, and then released. This happened at least three times.

The 2001 Koch CD reissue fixes all the problems this album had in its vinyl release(s) by including every tune recorded at the session.

I'm not sure if all three pressings had the same catalogue number. I'm assuming so, since I can't find any information that suggests otherwise.
